800 YEARS OF MONGOLIAN STATEHOOD
On
15th March 2006 The Mongolian Embassy in London celebrated
800 years of Mongolian Statehood
The day started with a welcome by His Excellency Dalrain Davaasambuu followed by an Introduction to Mongolian Studies in England by Professor Caroline Humphrey. Dr David Sneath then gave a keynote talk on 800 Years of Mongolian Statehood which was followed by two more presentations and a lunch.
In the afternoon there was a meeting at the House of Commons of the All Party Parliamentary Mongolia Group chaired by John Grogan MP in the presence of Ian Pearson MP, Minister of State (Minister for Trade), Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Department of Trade and Industry.
In the evening there were further presentations and a folk art performance followed by a reception.
